About VEGFR-3
VEGFR-3 (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Recpetor 3), also known as FLT4 (FMS-Like Tyrosine kinse 4), kinase is an important driver in blood and lymph angiogenesis. It also controls the mobilisation of cancer cells, a key process involved in metastasis, the main cause of death in cancer patients. A drug inhibiting VEGFR-3 should prevent tumour growth and spread, providing an invaluable therapy for the management of many cancer types.
Sareum have discovered potent and selective inhibitors of VEGFR-3 which are currently being pursued in late stage lead optimisation.
