About Us - History
Sareum was founded in August 2003 by Dr Tim Mitchell, Dr David Williams and Dr John Reader as a spin out from Millennium Pharmaceuticals' Structure-Based Discovery Department. Following an initial private investment, the company was successfully admitted to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange in October 2004.
Sareum's management and scientific team have a successful track record of delivering results for many clients on a wide variety of discovery research projects. We are proud of the excellent reputation we gained previously at Cambridge Discovery Chemistry Ltd and Millennium Pharmaceuticals R&D Ltd for successful, on schedule, delivery of cost effective and quality results on internal and outsourced research projects.
Sareum re-located to Pampisford, Cambridge, UK, in June 2004, to create a facility that brings together molecular biology, protein expression, protein purification, X-ray crystallography, chemoinformatics, bioinformatics, computational and medicinal chemistry. Sareum's team comprised leading experts in these fields enabling effective and efficient structure-based drug discovery to be seamlessly conducted on one site.
In 2008, the company restructured its business to concentrate solely on its internal cancer drug discovery programmes.
